Due to the recent Supreme Court Decision on February 8th, Starbuds hours will change temporarily to the following:
Monday- Friday 11-7
Saturday 11-5
Closed Sunday

Please stop in as we will provide information on the new bill to amend the medical marijuana act drafted by Republican Representative Mike Callton.

Please contact the representative from YOUR district. If you're not sure who your Representative is, you can go to this State of Michigan link, plug in your address to determine who your Rep is OR call the House Business Office: 1-517-373-6339, give them your zip code and they should be able to provide you with this information.

Please realize that taking these proactive steps and letting your voice be heard by your Representative is important to preserve your rights!

Starbuds will provide printed out packets of the new bill being introduced as well as the Supreme Court's ruling and how it affects you; including the Walsh Bill coming into effect in April.

Starbuds serves as an informational center - providing classes as well as a certification center for patients and new patients. We are professional and meet all requirements set by LARA to insure your paperwork is properly done as well as information on all the steps you will need to do to complete the process.

About Bill HB5580:

There is a medical marijuana bill called HB5580 that would allow businesses similar to Starbuds to operate more freely without worrying about confrontation with a party or misinterpretation of the current medical marijuana law. Starbuds believes this bill will allow much easier access for patients than it has been in the past. Starbuds supports this bill but this bill needs to be funded. We have donated funds to push this bill forward and a donation box will be located inside Starbuds. Please contact your local Legislators, House Represenative and Senator to let them know that you want this bill passed. We have the information concerning this bill available at Starbuds. We provide a location for Doctor Certifications that comply with all of the requirements of the MMA as well as providing seminars and informational clinics. Your support is appreciated.

Below are two links of information concerning the ruling that came down Friday from the Supreme court. Please read both links as you will be able to see that bills are being introduced to allow medical marijuana dispensaries. Until these unfortunate events can be overturned--and they must be--Starbuds will be available to give information and support to all of our customers. Starbuds upcoming clinic dates:

Wednesday, April 3rd - Cancelled (Dr. Townsend will be on vacation, sorry for any inconvenience)
Wednesday, April 17th from 6-9 pm
Wednesday, May 1st from 6-9 pm

Clinics are at the same time/day every other Wednesday from 6-9 pm. We ask that you contact StarBuds prior to these dates to be sure you have all the required paperwork to complete your file. More clinic dates will soon be added!

The Walsh Bill goes into effect April 1st: New or renewal certifications will only have to be renewed every two years, not yearly as is currently in effect.

Starbuds accepts appointments on Thursdays from 5-7 pm with MMA qualified growers. Starbuds has a drop off available for Iron Labs for licensed/qualified growers looking to have their harvest tested.

RECENT NEWS:

Representative Mike Callton (Republican) visits Starbuds on Saturday, March 2, 2013 (above).

Representative Callton is the sponsor of the Michigan House Bill HB4271 to empower dispensary-like provisioning centers to operate without interference in the state. Mr. Callton said that "Starbuds goes above and beyond what a normal dispensary should be." Thank you, Rep. Callton, we appreciate the kind words!

Congratulations to Samuel! He's the winner (above) of some fine glassware during our recent February give-away drawing!

Stop in to sign the petition to help put Marihuana Legalization on the ballot in November. We also have yard signs available at Starbuds: "END PROHIBITION OF MARIHUANA REPEALTODAY.ORG" For a donation of $10 the money goes to The Committee for a Safer Michigan.
